We live in a world where health and safety are of paramount importance. We all try to reduce the incidences where persons can be harmed. NiBS believe that all persons working on Battery and Charger systems should be Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP).
Qualifications demonstrate that persons have the knowledge and skills required to perform a particular task competently and safely. Experience is also invaluable in working with battery systems, but if you have been taught a particular way, how do you know that this is best practice?
NiBS have finally achieved their goal of creating a standby battery qualification for the Industry.
CERTIFICATE IN STANDBY BATTERY SYSTEMS (VRQ LEVEL 3)
Qualification Code 601/1879/9
This is delivered under the auspices of EAL, (http://eal.org.uk/), and has been signed off by OFQUAL.
In addition to this qualification NiBS offer a host of Battery Courses as an introduction towards the formal Certificate. These courses are currently under review for becoming EAL ‘Approved’ courses. These are aimed specifically at customers who wish to provide a basic grounding of battery safety to their maintenance engineers, without formal qualification.
NiBS has registered as an EAL Training Centre, and have qualified teaching staff, with experience of standby battery systems, to deliver this course and qualification.
NiBS can also provide First Aid Courses, accredited through First Aid Awards. NiBS have developed an essential safety course for Battery Room Operatives, see ‘Battery Room Operator Training’. This incorporates the Safety Requirements of Battery Rooms with Basic First Aid response in the event of an incident.
