Impedance

This service is similar to the previously described Inspection and Report Service except for two main aspects.

1. Impedance readings are taken in place of float voltage readings
2. The impedance service does require the system to be off line for a short period whilst the impedance readings are taken.

All other report matters and comments are the same.

Impedance service includes both charted and listed readings.

In new installations, particularly UPS applications, regular impedance readings may extend the period between periodic discharge tests for capacity checks.

This brings the longer off - line time on a biennial frequency for BS discharge tests to either; near end - of - life or; if doubt exists about the battery condition from maintenance records as felt necessary.
